# A fifth law firm joins the ServiceTitan probe as Yelp's $30 agent books into its calendar

> Robbins Geller became the fifth plaintiffs' firm to probe ServiceTitan's AI pivot on October 27, the same month Yelp shipped a $30-a-month agent that books jobs straight into ServiceTitan's own calendar. Shareholders carry the $4-5 million revenue drag and five open probes; contractors get cheaper agents either way.

## A fifth firm reads the fine print

Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd, the plaintiffs' firm that won the record $7.2 billion Enron recovery, [said October 27 it is investigating](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/investigation-alert-investigation-launched-into-servicetitan-inc-ttan-robbins-geller-rudman--dowd-llp-attorneys-encourage-investors-and-potential-witnesses-to-contact-law-firm-302917726.html) [ServiceTitan](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/servicetitan) (Nasdaq: TTAN), the software incumbent for plumbing, HVAC and electrical contractors [1]. [Four firms got there first](https://theinference.org/article/four-law-firms-probe-servicetitan-s-max-pivot-as-insiders-logged-93-sales-and-zero-buys-q3-ends-october-31), from Pomerantz on September 24 to Bleichmar Fonti & Auld on October 6, all after shares fell 29.98% to $57.12 on September 9 [2].

These are investigations, not findings. Robbins Geller's notice hangs one word on Max, the AI platform: deployed locations "purportedly" doubled in the fiscal first quarter, while the September 8 report priced the rollout at $4-5 million of near-term revenue, roughly $2 million of it waived onboarding fees [1].

## A $30 agent answers the phone

[Yelp](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/yelp) [announced its Fall Product Release on October 20](https://www.yelp-press.com/news/default.aspx) [3], and the contractor pieces [landed in trade press on October 28](https://www.contractormag.com/technology/news/55415058/yelp-adds-ai-lead-response-and-scheduling-tools-for-service-contractors) [4]. Smart Lead Reply, $30 a month and rolling out in November, answers questions, gathers project details and qualifies quote requests for plumbers, roofers and electricians, and a new integration books those jobs directly into a contractor's ServiceTitan calendar [4].

About 10% of Yelp quote requests already arrive through its AI assistant [4]. [At ServiceTitan's own Pantheon conference](https://homepros.news/7-conversations-on-ai-private-equity-the-economy-and-more-pantheon-2026/), Redwood Services operations chief RJ Magee said the trades are putting AI "above the fundamentals of the business," and ServiceTitan technology chief Abhishek Mathur allowed that generic software "will be challenging" [5].

## The bet is funded from a slowing core

Revenue growth peaked at 29.4% in the quarter ended January 2025, printed 20.9% in the quarter ended July 2026, and [the September 8 guide of $285-287 million](https://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?action=getcompany&CIK=0001638826) implies about 15% for the quarter closing October 31 [7][2]. Gross transaction volume, the dollars contractors invoice through the platform, grew 17% year over year, down from 19% a year earlier [1][8].

*Chart: **Revenue growth peaked at 29.4% and the current guide implies about 15%** Line chart of ServiceTitan year-over-year revenue growth by fiscal quarter, from 24.5% in the quarter ended October 2024 through a peak of 29.4%, easing to 20.9% in July 2026 and a guided 14.8% for the October 2026 quarter.*

*Year-over-year total revenue growth by fiscal quarter, periods ended October 2024 through July 2026, from ServiceTitan's SEC filings. The final point is the company's September 8, 2026, guide of $285-287 million for the quarter ending October 31, 2026, against $249.2 million a year earlier, marked as an estimate. [7][2]*

## What the bulls hold, and what settles it

ServiceTitan expects about 700 Max locations by fiscal year-end, built with 50 contractors [6], holds [net dollar retention above 110%](https://investors.servicetitan.com/news-releases/news-release-details/servicetitan-announces-fiscal-second-quarter-financial-results) [8], and drew Buy ratings from [Stifel](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/stifel), KeyBanc and Canaccord after October's launch [2]. TTAN quoted $82.69 on October 30, above the roughly $81.58 close that preceded the collapse [10][2].

Yet Max's own marketing [claims a 6x faster booked-jobs growth rate](https://www.servicetitan.com/max) under a footnote conceding the data "reflects early access participants" and "have not been independently verified" [9]. The year-ago third quarter was reported December 4 [10]; watch the subscription line, where the $2-3 million headwind from deferred Max billing either starts to reverse or does not [2].

A $30-a-month agent now books jobs straight into the calendar of a company giving up $4-5 million of revenue to defend it.

## Takeaway

Five plaintiffs' firms are now probing ServiceTitan's Max pivot, which costs the company $4-5 million of near-term revenue, while Yelp's $30-a-month agent books jobs straight into ServiceTitan's calendar; the October-quarter report after October 31 shows whether growth re-accelerates or the Max billing headwind lingers.
