# Amphenol's CEO sold 799,576 shares on the day Goldman Sachs put the stock on its Conviction List

> The Form 4 filed Tuesday shows Amphenol's CEO exercised and sold 799,576 shares on the same Monday two banks endorsed the stock. November 12 tells you which signal was right.

R. Adam Norwitt, chief executive of [Amphenol](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/amphenol) (NYSE: APH), exercised options on 799,576 shares and sold every one on Monday November 2, gifting 200,000 more, per [a Form 4, the SEC filing that discloses insider trades](https://www.ad-hoc-news.de/boerse/news/unternehmensnachrichten/amphenol-s-record-backlog-faces-its-real-test-converting-orders-into-revenue/70475155), published the next day [1]. That was the same Monday [Goldman Sachs](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/goldman-sachs) [put the AI connector maker on its US Conviction List with a $122 target](https://www.ad-hoc-news.de/boerse/news/unternehmensnachrichten/amphenol-wins-goldman-conviction-nod-as-data-center-demand-lifts-outlook/70451669) and [Barclays](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/barclays) lifted its target to $111 from $100 [2].

The stock rose 4.6% on Friday anyway [2]. Norwitt runs the company whose connectors, cable and sensors physically wire AI data centers together, and nobody else in the file has better information on whether demand is holding.

## The order book versus the seller of record

The bulls' evidence is operational. Amphenol's record third quarter, reported October 28, brought revenue of $10.23 billion, up 65.1% year over year, adjusted EPS of $0.80, up 74%, and orders of $12.17 billion, up 99% [1]. The book-to-bill ratio of 1.19 means customers ordered roughly a fifth more than the company shipped [2]. [Our October 31 piece](https://theinference.org/article/amphenol-booked-10-7bn-in-orders-its-10-q-says-24-of-the-55-growth-points-were-bought) covered that quarter's record and the acquired share of its growth; what is new is the week that followed [3].

*Chart: **Q3 orders of $12.17B outran the quarter's $10.23B of revenue** Bars comparing Amphenol Q3 2026 revenue of $10.23B, Q3 2026 orders of $12.17B, and Q4 2026 revenue guidance midpoint of $10.4B*

*US$ billions. Q3 2026 reported figures per company results; the Q4 bar is the midpoint of management guidance and is an estimate, not a reported result. Book-to-bill in Q3 was 1.19, so orders outran shipments [1][2][3]. [1][2]*

*Chart: **Quarterly revenue has tripled since late 2023, and Q3 2026 grew at the fastest pace of the boom** Column chart of Amphenol's quarterly revenue from Q4 2023 to Q3 2026, rising from $3.3 billion to $10.23 billion, with Q3 2026 highlighted*

*Quarterly revenue in US$ billions, from Amphenol's SEC filings. Q3 2026 revenue of $10.23 billion was up 65.1% year over year, the fastest pace in the twelve quarters shown. [4]*

## What the seller's file says

The buyback telling against him is its timing. The board authorized $4 billion on October 28, but the program takes effect January 1, 2027, and runs three years, after an existing $2 billion program completes [2][3]. So the company's own cash promise waits two months while the CEO's selling is already done.

The insider sale is not proof of a peak: executives sell for many reasons, from taxes to diversification, and no source here ranks insider transactions to say how large this one was. But the timing is a fact, and it is the only sell signal in the file.

## November 12 is the checkpoint

Both camps converge on one date. Amphenol appears at [Baird's 2026 Global Industrial Conference](https://www.ad-hoc-news.de/boerse/news/unternehmensnachrichten/amphenol-s-order-book-is-fat-now-wall-street-wants-the-revenue/70476787) on November 12, and investors will listen for whether the Q4 guidance of $10.3–10.5 billion in revenue and $0.81–0.83 in adjusted EPS is tracking, and how the backlog is converting [2].

If that quarter lands, the order book wins the argument. If it slips, the earliest signal in the file that demand might not keep compounding was not the analysts' note; it was the CEO's own trade.

## Takeaway

CEO Adam Norwitt exercised and sold 799,576 shares on the same Monday Goldman put Amphenol on its Conviction List; the November 12 Baird conference is the checkpoint for whether the record order book converts.
