# Atomera says its silicon film is in the Applied Materials-Intel pact; no contract names Atomera

> Two days after Applied Materials and Intel unveiled their EPIC Center collaboration, Atomera's chief executive cast his silicon film as an "important ingredient." Neither company names Atomera, and the license that would prove him right is still unsigned.

## A repost claims a seat inside Intel's next node

[Applied Materials](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/applied-materials) and [Intel](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/intel) said on October 6 they will develop next-generation transistors, interconnects and Foveros 3D packaging together, split between Applied's EPIC Center in Silicon Valley and Intel's Hillsboro, Oregon campus [1] [3]. Prabu Raja, who runs Applied's semiconductor products group, called Intel "[a founding partner of the EPIC Center](https://theinference.org/article/partners-get-the-bench-early-applied-shareholders-get-the-asterisk)," where it joins [TSMC](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/tsmc), Samsung, SK Hynix and [Micron](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/micron) [1] [3]. Two days later [Atomera](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/atomera) chief executive Scott Bibaud [reposted the news with his own banner](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/scottbibaud_this-is-a-great-example-of-the-type-of-ecosystem-share-7513357478554718211-k-c1/): [Atomera](https://atomera.com/update-on-mst-project-with-stmicroelectronics/)'s technology "will be an important ingredient" [2]. [The announcement itself](https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/articles/applied-materials-intel-collaborate-accelerate-130000109.html) never mentions Atomera [1].

## The paper trail behind the boast

The claim has a trail, just not a signature. On April 28, 2025 Atomera [announced a strategic marketing agreement with an unnamed "global leader in chip fabrication technology"](https://atomera.com/atomera-announces-agreement-with-leading-capital-equipment-company-to-bring-innovative-materials-to-market/) to perfect its MST silicon film on the partner's tools [4]. On its August earnings call the company said one of its two gate-all-around customers had cleared the hardest step yet, depositing MST inside a GAA transistor structure, with license talks possible as early as late 2026 and a failed experiment adding about nine months [5].

## Ten years of pitches, one license that went dark

The bears hold the longer record. Atomera's only commercial license, signed with STMicroelectronics in April 2023, went dark in October 2025 when ST took its BCD110 process to market without MST, leaving the company, [in its own words, "without a line of sight to royalty"](https://atomera.com/update-on-mst-project-with-stmicroelectronics/) [6] [7]. Q2 revenue was $158,000 against a $6.3 million net loss, with $38.4 million of cash left [5]. Weiss Ratings and Wall Street Zen rate the stock a sell [8]. Under Bibaud's own post, a commenter put the case flatly: "Atomera has been trying to sell or partner for over 10 years with no success" [2].

*Chart: **The market has not priced the 'ingredient' claim: ATOM sits below both its averages** Bar chart comparing ATOM's October 9 price of $4.075 with its 50-day average $4.64, 200-day average $6.20, and 52-week range of $1.892 to $12.365*

*Share price in US dollars. Price and 52-week range as of October 9, 2026 (Yahoo Finance); 50- and 200-day moving averages as of October 1, 2026 (MarketBeat). [8][9]*

## October 27 prices the claim

The market already has a view: ATOM trades at $4.075 [9], below its 50-day and 200-day moving averages as of October 1 [8], for a market value of $159 million [9]. [Third-quarter results land on October 27](https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/ATOM/) [9], and Bibaud says GAA license terms "have been on the table since the start" [5]. The EPIC Center is scheduled to be operationally ready this year [1]. An 8-K naming a customer would move the stock. A repost is not an 8-K.

## Takeaway

Scott Bibaud's "important ingredient" claim has a paper trail but no signature: no contract names Atomera, its only commercial license lapsed without royalties, and the proof points are gate-all-around license talks flagged for late 2026 and the October 27 earnings report.
