# Credo fell 21.6% in OCP week on AI-funding fear, not the cable launch; the Nov. 30 report decides

> The company launched a cable and a memory-scaling demo at OCP, and the stock fell 21.6% in the same week. The November report, not the product news, decides which story is true.

[Credo](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/credo) spent OCP week showing investors its business after copper cables, and the market paid it back with the sharpest fall of the year. The $32.24 billion interconnect maker [detailed a 1.6T ZeroFlap active light cable](https://thedatacenterengineer.com/news/credo-details-1-6t-zeroflap-active-light-cable-for-50m-ai-row-links/), 12 watts per end, up to 50 meters, shipping 2027, and an [OmniConnect Weaver demo with AMD](https://www.storagenewsletter.com/2026/10/21/ocp-global-summit-2026-credo-breaks-the-memory-wall-using-amd-programmable-logic-based-ai-accelerators/) arguing that memory, not compute, now limits AI inference [5][6]. The stock fell 21.6% that week anyway [5][6]. The two moves point to the same question, and it is about revenue, not optics.

## The drop was the tape, not the cable

The drop was not the product. Credo's own September call had already put the cable in production in fiscal 2028, and Trefis found [no report tying the launch-day slide to the launch](https://www.trefis.com/stock/crdo/articles/619673/what-has-the-market-missed-in-credo-technology-stocks-drop/2026-10-21) [1]. The tape explains it better: the chip index fell for a seventh straight session on AI-funding worry, and a stock with a beta of 3.23 takes the sector's fear at full strength [1]. [Super Micro's raised outlook on October 20](https://weissratings.com/en/instant-news-alerts/credo-technology-group-holding-ltd-crdo-up-6-2-time-to-capitalize-on-the-move) pushed CRDO back up 6.24% to $182.21 the next day, which tells you the fall was sentiment, not underwriting [2].

## The products carry the second act

The products matter because they carry the second act of the chain. [AECs built Credo](https://theinference.org/article/credo-doubled-sales-now-it-must-earn-the-cash), but management expects more than $600 million of optical revenue in fiscal 2027, over $100 million from each of three lines, and admits cables are the slower grower [3].

ZeroFlap is the instrument for that: it extends Credo's reliability pitch, [xAI](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/xai) bringing a cluster up in five days instead of six to eight weeks, from inside the rack to row scale [1][5]. The Weaver demo aims at the next bottleneck, memory bandwidth for inference, though it is a demonstration, not a shipping product.

*Chart: **The guide implies a 20% sequential step, and consensus expects more after it** Credo revenue: fiscal Q1 2027 actual of $479M, fiscal Q2 guidance midpoint of $530M, and consensus fiscal Q3 and Q4 figures of about $642M and $841M.*

## The November report is the test

What actually moves your money now is the fiscal Q2 report expected around November 30 [1][2]. The guide is $525–535 million after $479 million in Q1, and consensus already assumes the 20% step Fleming promised [1][2]. Watch whether optical shows its share of the above-$600 million path, whether the two customers at 33% and 28% of revenue keep spending, and which multiple you are paying, about 39x GAAP or 27x normalized fiscal 2027 earnings [1][3].

CEO [Bill Brennan](https://theinference.org/markets/people/bill-brennan) sold $2.9 million of stock on October 19 at $174.87, [under a 10b5-1 plan adopted in June](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1807794/000162828026066716/0001628280-26-066716-index.htm), keeping 1.58 million trust shares [4]. Pre-set selling during launch week is not a signal about the quarter; a miss on the guide would be. Learn the numbers now, because the next data point is less than six weeks out.

## Takeaway

Credo's 21.6% OCP-week fall tracked the chip index's AI-funding fear, not its product news. The fiscal Q2 report, expected around November 30, tests the $525–535 million guide against a $479 million Q1, whether optical revenue shows its share of the $600 million-plus path, and whether the two customers at 33% and 28% of revenue keep spending.
