# Everpure's raised outlook comes from storage, not the platform it renamed itself for

> Everpure has nearly doubled this year on hyperscale storage wins, and its raised fiscal 2028 outlook comes from hardware. The case for the data platform it renamed itself for rests on a survey it commissioned and savings its own architect calls unmeasured.

[Everpure](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/everpure) is [earning like a storage company](https://theinference.org/article/ai-needs-more-storage-these-four-stocks-get-paid-differently) and being priced like a platform, and this week supplied evidence only for the first half of that sentence. On October 21, [Cisco](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/cisco) named Everpure's FlashBlade storage, its Portworx volumes and its key-value cache, which stops inference servers from repeating work they have already done, [inside the AI POD, a validated design for running enterprise AI factories](https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/everpure-p-stock-trades-why-230239370.html) [1].

A day later [Morgan Stanley](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/morgan-stanley) [added the stock to its list of AI infrastructure names](https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/morgan-stanley-says-24-ai-091501768.html) it expects to keep revising upward as hyperscaler spending growth slows into 2028 [2]. The shares have nearly doubled this year and trade near 31 times forward earnings [3].

## The hardware is doing the earning

The outlook that reset the stock came from chief financial officer [Tarek Robbiati](https://theinference.org/markets/people/tarek-robbiati) [at a September 23 investor day](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/everpure-stock-already-18-today-154637775.html), days after S&P 500 inclusion had lifted the shares: fiscal 2028 revenue of $7.15 billion at the midpoint [4]. [The Street had modeled $6.2 billion](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/ai-sell-off-continues-3-180000307.html) [5]. Management's own split says where the money comes from.

Hyperscale deals that put Everpure's DirectFlash modules inside the largest data centers lead, and the new lines it now tracks separately, data software included, are a small slice today, targeted at a fifth of revenue only by 2030 [4]. The Cisco win bills through hardware as well: a pre-validated stack with Cisco servers and [NVIDIA](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/nvidia) accelerators, built to carry inference from pilot to production [1].

## The platform's case is a survey and an expectation

The rename from Pure Storage puts Data Intelligence, software that discovers and classifies data held on other vendors' systems, at the center of the story [6]. Its demand case is [the Global Data Sovereignty Report, research Everpure paid the firm Vanson Bourne to run among 2,100 enterprise leaders](https://www.morningstar.com/news/pr-newswire/20260930sf59521/88-of-executives-fear-data-sovereignty-failures-could-cost-them-their-jobs) [7]. Of those, 85% said they would give up features to work with a sovereign provider [7].

The need underneath is real: 62% cannot say who can access their data [7], and an AI agent that cannot be governed across an estate like that cannot be trusted with it [8]. Yet Everpure's own enterprise architect, Markus Grau, [says the company has seen no significant migration of cloud workloads back to customers' own data centers](https://www.heise.de/en/news/Data-sovereignty-often-fails-at-the-first-hurdle-lack-of-visibility-11496419.html) [8].

The claim that its accelerator cuts token consumption by half or more is, in his telling, an internal expectation rather than a measured result [8].

## What would settle it

The bullish answer is that hyperscale hardware alone carries the valuation. Then the investor owns a storage cyclical, and the insiders who can see the pipeline [sold $355.4 million of stock in twelve months and bought none](https://www.gurufocus.com/news/9135228/is-everpure-inc-p-overvalued-after-35-rally-gf-value-says-overvalued) [3]. The sovereignty gap is genuine, and whoever measures the closing of it, in production deployments like the AI POD stack, deserves the reward. Until one is measured, Everpure is a storage business carrying a platform story, and at this multiple the market is paying for the story in advance.

## Takeaway

The fiscal 2028 guidance that reset Everpure's stock is earned by hyperscale flash hardware; the Data Intelligence platform's case rests on a commissioned survey and an unmeasured savings claim, so at 31 times earnings the market is paying for the story in advance.
