# Google sells Gemini through 19,000 Cognizant and Accenture staff, then straight to US agencies

> In one 24-hour span, Google lined up more than 18,000 Cognizant associates and 1,000 Accenture federal engineers to deliver Gemini, then opened a preview that sells agents to US agencies directly. The model lists at $2 per million input tokens, and none of the announcements named a paying customer.

On October 19, [Cognizant](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/cognizant), the IT services firm listed as CTSH, and Google Cloud [announced a Gemini Frontier Capability Group staffed by more than 18,000 Cognizant associates](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/cognizant-and-google-cloud-expand-alliance-to-accelerate-agentic-enterprise-transformation-302912036.html) [1]. Behind it sit 55,000 workshop-certified associates and an internal rollout headed for 100,000 people this year and 200,000 after [1]. [Google](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/alphabet) is building Gemini's delivery channel in other companies' headcount while [pricing the model per token](https://theinference.org/article/google-prices-gemini-4-argon-at-2-per-million-tokens-a-fifth-of-openai-and-anthropic-s-10-flagships), and the next day it opened a channel of its own.

The same day, [Accenture](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/accenture) Federal Services, the federal arm of Accenture (ACN), and Google Public Sector [launched Gemini launchpads, which embed forward deployed engineers inside agencies to build agents for HR, finance and supply chain](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261019027890/en/) [2]. The launchpads draw on the 1,000-person engineer workforce Accenture first announced on September 9 [3].

*Chart: **Every big number in the Gemini wave is a person** Bar chart of five Gemini-related headcounts: Cognizant's 200,000 internal rollout target, 100,000 internal rollout in 2026, 55,000 Build with Gemini workshop graduates, 18,000 in the new Gemini Frontier Capability Group, and 1,000 Accenture federal forward deployed engineers.*

*People attached to the Gemini wave. Cognizant's 100,000 and 200,000 are its own staff using Gemini internally, announced July 2026; the 55,000 workshop graduates and 18,000-person group were announced October 19, 2026; Accenture's 1,000-person federal unit was first announced September 9, 2026. ## The biggest numbers in the wave are headcounts

None of the announcements named a federal customer or disclosed a contract value [2][4]. Cognizant's only client metric, a 40 percent developer-productivity gain and a 35 percent cost saving, belongs to a retailer it does not name [1]. Accenture, with about 814,000 people and roughly $74 billion in fiscal 2026 revenue, sells the federal effort as embedded engineering time [2].

## Google opens its own door

On October 20, Google Cloud [put Gemini for government services into preview](https://seekingalpha.com/news/4654560-google-launches-gemini-for-government-services-to-improve-public-paperwork-process): agents for records requests, redactions, bid review and grant audits [5]. They run through [Oracle](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/oracle), [Salesforce](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/salesforce) and [ServiceNow](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/servicenow) systems of record, the software where an agency's official data already lives, on a FedRAMP High boundary, the top tier of the US government's standard cloud-security authorization [5]. [Health and Human Services and the State of Missouri have been testing it](https://www.nextgov.com/artificial-intelligence/2026/10/google-public-sector-unveils-gemini-government-services/416681/), general availability is due later this year with no date set, and agents from Accenture Federal and Deloitte are sold inside the same product [6].

## Where the money sits

Google's price list frames the asymmetry. [Gemini 4 Argon lists at $2 per million input tokens through November 30, doubling to $4 on December 1](https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/pricing) [7], and federal agencies pay $0.47 per agency per year for Gemini itself through November 15 under an existing OneGov deal [6]. Four Argon agents [ran a 27-hour Minecraft campaign, writing 2,783 programs](https://tech.yahoo.com/ai/gemini/articles/google-deepmind-claims-four-ai-102500185.html), on roughly $520 of tokens [8]. The model is the cheap input in a chain priced in salaries, and who keeps the margin when an agency buys an agent is nowhere disclosed.

The integrators hedge, with [Accenture also selling OpenAI's models into the same agencies](https://shattered.io/accenture-google-gemini-launchpads-federal-agents-2026/) [4]. Watch the first named task order, the way an agency buys work under a contract it already holds, the general-availability date of Google's own product, and the next Accenture and Cognizant earnings calls. Until one lands, the wave commits people and discloses no revenue.

## Takeaway

Google has signed up more than 18,000 Cognizant associates and 1,000 Accenture federal engineers to deliver Gemini and opened a preview selling agents straight to US agencies, yet no announcement named a paying customer or disclosed what an integrator keeps on the token bill.
