# Jabil's 10-K says two things the AI wires missed: half the company is AI capex, and the FDA paused a plant

> Jabil's fiscal 2026 10-K, filed October 23, shows Intelligent Infrastructure at 50% of revenue and an FDA warning letter that paused manufacturing at its Hunt Valley, Maryland plant. One fact reprices the AI growth story, the other is the operating risk the AI summaries left out.

[Jabil](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/jabil) filed [its fiscal 2026 annual report](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/898293/000162828026067038/jbl-20260831.htm) on October 23, 2026, and the wire summaries stopped at the headline lines: revenue of $35.95 billion, up 20.6%, and net income of $1.04 billion, up 58.6% [1]. The filing itself carries two more facts those summaries buried, and both move money in opposite directions.

The first fact: half the company is now the AI buildout. The second fact: a regulator has idled one of its plants. Neither is priced in a stock that, as of October 20, 2026, closed at $277.18 and had returned five times a $100 investment since fiscal 2021 against $183 for the S&P 500 [2].

## Half the company is now the AI story

Jabil's Intelligent Infrastructure segment, the unit building cloud and data center infrastructure, networking gear and capital equipment for AI customers, grew 45% in fiscal 2026 and reached 50% of total revenue, up from 41% in fiscal 2025 and 32% in fiscal 2024 [2]. In dollars that is $17.87 billion of the $35.95 billion total, against $12.32 billion a year earlier [2]. The 10-K attributes the rise to AI-related demand across cloud and data center infrastructure, which grew 33% from existing customers, networking and communications at 8%, and capital equipment at 4% [2].

*Chart: **Six straight quarters of year-over-year revenue growth since the AI ramp** Line chart of Jabil total net revenue by quarter from the quarter ended August 2024 to the quarter ended May 2026, rising from $6.96B to $8.75B after a trough in February 2025*

*Jabil total net revenue by quarter, US$ billions, from its SEC filings, retrieved 24 October 2026. Latest reported quarter is the fiscal third quarter ended May 31, 2026; the fiscal 2026 fourth quarter is not yet reported as a standalone quarter. [6]*

That mix shift is what lifted the whole company. Gross margin rose to 9.2% from 8.9%, which the filing ties primarily to product mix in Intelligent Infrastructure [2]. Core operating income in the segment was $1.07 billion at a 6.0% margin, up from $664 million at 5.4% a year earlier, the fastest growth of the three segments [2].

*Chart: **Intelligent Infrastructure revenue nearly doubled in two years to $17.9B** Column chart of Jabil Intelligent Infrastructure segment net revenue across fiscal 2024, 2025 and 2026, rising from $9.2B to $12.3B to $17.9B*

## The concentration nobody is pricing

Concentration followed the growth. One unnamed customer, reported primarily through Intelligent Infrastructure, accounted for 20% of fiscal 2026 revenue and 33% of accounts receivable, up from 16% and 24% a year earlier [2]. The five largest customers together were 37% of revenue [2].

Jabil's own risk factors say customers that do not commit to production schedules beyond a quarter, and emerging companies with thinner credit, can hit the company twice: orders cancel and the receivables and inventory already booked do not come back [2]. The filing also discloses that Jabil sometimes offers such customers extended payment terms, loans and other financial support, which it says has impacted financial results in the past [2].

The money at stake is concrete. Management told analysts on September 30 that [fiscal 2027 brings $44.5 billion of total revenue](https://theinference.org/article/jabil-s-8-5-billion-growth-guide-is-almost-all-ai), core EPS of $17.55, and $22.1 billion of AI-related revenue, up 54% [3]. Earnings that grow 65% a year on a 9% gross margin are earnings that lean hard on a handful of buyers staying solvent and spending [2]. The 10-K states plainly that a reduction in business from one or more of the largest customers could have a material adverse effect [2].

## The other half: a regulator shut a line Jabil bought 18 months ago

The overlooked item sits in one paragraph of the filing. On August 27, 2026, Jabil received an FDA warning letter relating to a March 2026 inspection of the Pharmaceutics International Inc. facility in Hunt Valley, Maryland, with findings on manufacturing practices and quality systems [2]. Management has paused manufacturing at the site, made leadership changes, and launched a comprehensive corrective action plan; full remediation begins once the FDA approves the plan [2].

The context makes it more than a footnote. Jabil paid $309 million for Pii in February 2025 to buy aseptic filling, lyophilization and oral solid dose capacity for its Regulated Industries segment, recording $142 million of goodwill on the deal [2]. The 10-K notes Jabil conducts no aseptic filling at any other location, so the paused line is the aseptic line [2]. The same filing's risk factors warn that FDA enforcement can escalate from warning letters to fines, recalls or temporarily halting a facility outright [2].

## How the market read the letter

Scale check, before anyone over-weights it: Regulated Industries revenue grew 7% to $12.69 billion in fiscal 2026, and the warning letter touches one site inside that business [2].

Analysts read it the same way. When the letter surfaced, Jabil shares closed at $221.73 on September 2, 2026, down 1.63%, and [the average analyst target from nine covering analysts](https://www.ad-hoc-news.de/boerse/news/corporate-news/jabil-inc-stock-reacts-to-fda-warning-as-analysts-see-limited-downside/70050487) stood at $223.89, with a high of $245 and a low of $205, roughly 0.67% below the then-current price [4]. The market treated the plant as contained. The filing neither quantifies the revenue at the site nor discloses any remediation cost, so that treatment is an assumption, not a measurement.

## What the filing actually says about both halves

The 10-K does not connect the two facts, and the connection runs one way [2]. The AI segment funds the balance sheet: operating cash flow was $2.0 billion and adjusted free cash flow $1.53 billion in fiscal 2026, with capital expenditures of $628 million against a fiscal 2027 guide of 1.5% to 2.0% of revenue, and $3.4 billion of notes payable against $4.4 billion of unused revolving and receivables capacity [2]. The plant pause is a working capital and timing problem at worst, absorbed inside a segment growing 7% [2].

## The question that actually matters

The real question the filing leaves open is not the plant. It is whether the AI concentration earns its risk. A customer at 20% of revenue and 33% of receivables, in a segment whose buyers finance themselves in [a credit market that repriced this month](https://theinference.org/article/jabil-expects-ai-revenue-up-54-to-22-1-billion-coreweave-s-2032-bond-yields-15-77), is a larger exposure than the plant pause the wires missed [2][5].

The corrective-action plan at Hunt Valley has a date to watch, FDA approval of the remediation plan [2]. The other watch item has no date: what happens to $22.1 billion of guided AI revenue if any hyperscale buyer slows its capex, which the fiscal 2027 quarters will reveal in order flow long before the annual report does [3].

Jabil's own words make the point best: five customers are 37% of revenue, and the company's credit risk language around them has been there all along. The AI half of Jabil compounds earnings; it also concentrates them. The filing says both. Price both.

## Deep dive: where to check the numbers

Read the source documents directly. The 10-K is at the SEC's EDGAR system under accession 0001628280-26-067038, filed October 23, 2026, for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2026, signed by CEO [Michael Dastoor](https://theinference.org/markets/people/michael-dastoor), CFO Gregory Hebard and Chairman Steven Raymund [2].

The segment table in Note 13 gives the Intelligent Infrastructure revenue and margin detail, the concentration table in the same note names the 20% customer by percentage, and the Certain Regulatory Matters section carries the FDA warning letter paragraph [2]. The earnings call record from September 30, 2026, carries the fiscal 2027 guidance language in management's own words, including CFO Hebard's confirmation of Q4 revenue of approximately $10.6 billion, GAAP EPS of $3.76 and core EPS of $4.40, and CEO Dastoor's $22.1 billion AI-related revenue target [3]. For the market side, the ad-hoc-news compilation of September 3, 2026, has the Zacks analyst-target table around the FDA letter [4]. Each figure in this piece traces to one of those documents; none of it is a restatement of another summary.

## Takeaway

Half of Jabil is now AI infrastructure, one customer is 20% of revenue, and the FDA has paused the plant that does its only aseptic filling: read the concentration as carefully as the growth.
