# Netskope trades 30% above analyst targets on AI agent controls that have no published adoption yet

> An eight-session surge put the Santa Clara security vendor well above every sell-side model. Its next earnings report has to show whether the agent controls it shipped this autumn are turning into revenue.

[Netskope](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/netskope) [rose for eight straight sessions into October 28](https://www.trefis.com/stock/ntsk/articles/621226/netskope-stock-climbs-40-on-an-8-day-winning-streak/2026-10-29), then broke this week: on October 30 the shares [fell about 7 percent in a tech-wide selloff](https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/nasdaq-100-falls-2%2e5%25-as-earnings-deepen-tech-rout%3a-markets-wrap/92299351) [1][2][3]. They still trade roughly 30 percent above the $18.75 average analyst target [2][4]. That premium is the market paying early for an unglamorous link in the AI chain: the controls that let an enterprise trust an autonomous agent enough to deploy one.

## Enterprises will only run agents they can stop

Founder and chief executive [Sanjay Beri](https://theinference.org/markets/people/sanjay-beri) puts it plainly: an agent "has no morals, no emotional quotient, no compass of what is right or wrong," so every AI agent belongs in the zero-trust category, trusted with nothing by default, and the enterprise that deploys it answers for what it does [5]. Figures cited alongside Netskope's autumn launches have [more than half of organizations using agents reporting a suspected or confirmed breach in the past year](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/why-netskope-ntsk-investors-waiting-174701335.html) [9].

Since September the company has been building the gate. A control shipped on September 15 classifies agent actions and stops the risky ones before they execute [2]. [The AgentSkope Marketplace, opened on October 6](https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/articles/netskope-unveils-agentskope-marketplace-streamlining-130000984.html), lets teams buy and run Netskope's managed security agents from one console on one pool of capacity credits, ending procurement restarts for every new agent [6].

## A carrier on-ramp, 100 partners signed

On October 14, BT International, the carrier's global arm, [began carrying customer traffic straight to Netskope's inspection points over its Global Fabric network](https://www.remio.ai/post/bt-netskope-ai-security-partnership-puts-network-routing-to-the-test), so the guardrail adds no long detour [2][7]. More than 100 managed-service partners have signed the rebuilt channel program [8].

## The models sit below the tape, waiting for evidence

The fundamentals straddle the story. Revenue grew about 30 percent over the last year [1]. The operating margin was about minus 95 percent [1]. The September report beat expectations, and management [guided the October quarter to an adjusted loss of three to four cents a share](https://www.marketbeat.com/instant-alerts/analyst-netskope-nasdaq-ntsk-upgraded-to-strong-buy-at-zacks-research-2026-10-28/) [4]. Analysts like the company more than the price: most rate the stock a buy, and Weiss Ratings still says sell [4].

*Netskope revenue by fiscal quarter, US dollars in millions; fiscal quarters end in October, January, April and July. Year-over-year growth ran 32.9, 32.2, 27.8 and 29.2 percent over the four quarters shown in color. Source: Netskope quarterly figures from SEC filings, retrieved 30 October 2026. [10]*

[What nobody has published is adoption](https://theinference.org/article/almost-nobody-has-bought-agent-security-yet-the-market-is-paying-as-if-everyone-has): customer counts for the agent products, or latency benchmarks behind the BT routes [7]. And BT offers its security rivals [Cisco](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/cisco), [Fortinet](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/fortinet) and [Zscaler](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/zscaler) the same on-ramp, so the same budget is contested [7].

## The bottleneck moved from building to counting

The chain stands at a specific link: capability built, distribution signed, usage uncounted. Enterprises will run autonomous agents at scale only behind controls like these, so the builder that closes that gap deserves the reward. Whether eight days of market value already collected it in full is what the next earnings report settles.

## Takeaway

An eight-session surge left Netskope about 30% above the $18.75 average analyst target with no published adoption numbers for the agent controls it shipped this autumn; the next earnings report settles whether the premium is earned.
