# Salesforce priced Coworker at $50 a seat as usage rose 21x, undercutting its own metered pricing

> The same announcement that claimed 21x usage growth put a $50 flat price on Coworker, worth about 500 of Salesforce's own metered actions, and the company has not said how the two price tags interact.

[Salesforce](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/salesforce) put a price tag on its AI teammate on November 4 [1][5]. Agentforce Coworker, the assistant that drafts employee work from CRM records, email and files, [now sells at $50 per user per month, with all Coworker searches included](https://www.technobezz.com/news/salesforce-agentforce-coworker-adds-monthly-user-option) [1][5]. The same announcement carried the adoption story behind it: usage up 21 times in three months, more than 185,000 users, Fulton Bank, a US regional bank, running over 20 use cases for about 3,000 people, and staffing giant Adecco extending Coworker to 27,000 employees across 40 countries [1][2].

## The seat undercuts Salesforce's own meter

The money story is what the flat fee does to Salesforce's other price tag. [Its pricing page lists Agentforce Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000](https://www.salesforce.com/agentforce/pricing/), which is $0.005 a credit, and each agent action costs 20 credits, or $0.10; conversations run $2 each [5]. At $0.10 an action, a $50 seat buys [the same work as 500 metered actions](https://theinference.org/article/the-seat-salesforce-sells-is-shrinking-and-the-agent-replacing-it-costs-2-5-cents), arithmetic from the same page [5]. Salesforce has not explained how the seat and the credits interact, and the license page says only that searches are included [5].

That matters for billings. The 185,000 users at full list work out to roughly $111 million annualized before enterprise discounts, arithmetic from the announced user count and the $50 price [1][2]. Salesforce's own pages price searches, the workload the seat includes, at nothing on the meter; the revenue case rests on where the two price tags cross.

## Figma carries the other side of the trade

Across the industry the meter is the norm: [Notion](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/notion) charges $10 per 1,000 AI credits and [Atlassian](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/atlassian) $0.01 per credit over its allowance, while [Adobe](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/adobe)'s Firefly tiers work out to $0.005 on its 2,000-credit plan and $0.004 on its 50,000-credit plan [4].

[Figma](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/figma), the design software company, went the other way, doubling credits at the same price in August while its third-quarter hosting costs rose $52.8 million, about 45% of its added revenue, a bet its chief financial officer called "trading off near-term revenue" for durable growth [4]. Salesforce's seat splits the difference: predictable for the buyer, but with the inference bill quietly moving onto Salesforce's own cost lines.

## The sidebars it has to win

The caveats are real. Every customer example comes from Salesforce's own announcement, and none document outcomes [3]. Coworker also lands in [Microsoft](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/microsoft) Teams beside Copilot, which Microsoft's chairman and chief executive [Satya Nadella](https://theinference.org/markets/people/satya-nadella) calls "the new OS for work" [3]. The seat price is the actual competition in that sidebar: [Microsoft's Copilot license runs $30 per user per month](https://www.pymnts.com/news/artificial-intelligence/2026/microsoft-cedes-the-chatbot-race-and-doubles-down-on-enterprise/), with the agent work metered on top [6]. Coworker costs more per seat, so Salesforce is betting customer context beats the cheaper incumbent.

The seat and the meter also fund a shopping spree. Salesforce has signed [eight acquisitions this year](https://theinference.org/article/salesforce-signed-14-billion-of-ai-deals-on-debt-that-more-than-tripled-in-a-year), five with reported prices totaling about $15.5 billion, including [the reported $2.7 billion purchase of Cresta](https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/articles/selloff-didn-t-stop-salesforce-154810226.html), the AI voice assistant startup it agreed to buy on November 2, while it was still integrating Informatica [7]. Against that bill, a seat that caps the company's own meter at 500 actions has to earn its keep fast [7].

## The print that settles it

Per Salesforce's announcement, the seat went live on November 4, and Teams support, the iOS, Mac and Windows apps, and the free trial reach general availability this month; scheduled tasks and the Daily Digest follow in December [1].

The fiscal third quarter, which closes at the end of October and reports in early December, sits one step ahead of that: it captures almost none of the seat. The quarter that reports after that, closing in January, is the first print a reader can grade against the 185,000 users [3][7]. Watch how many of them are paying the $50, and whether Salesforce finally says how the seat and the credits interact [3][7].

## Takeaway

The $50 Coworker seat prices in about 500 of Salesforce's own $0.10 metered actions, and the company has not said how the two price tags interact; the January-quarter results are the first print that can grade the 185,000 users.
