# Sandisk's overnight price now sets on Binance, not Nasdaq: $41 billion of futures volume in 30 days

> A CoinDesk ranking puts Binance ahead on every measure in Sandisk's 24/7 perpetual futures: $41 billion of 30-day volume and up to $950 million of open interest. On October 8 the stock fell 5.35% on Samsung's miss, with that positioning already in place.

One of the busiest products on the world's largest crypto exchange this autumn is not a coin [1]. It is a memory stock. Perpetual futures on [Sandisk](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/sandisk), listed on Binance in April 2026, have at times out-traded the exchange's own Bitcoin and Ethereum books, and [a CoinDesk research ranking published on October 7](https://cryptobriefing.com/binance-leads-sandisk-perps-liquidity/) sets the order of the market that prices the stock overnight: Binance first on depth, volume and open interest, OKX second, Hyperliquid third [1].

## One contract rivalled Nasdaq's turnover at its August peak

Binance alone printed $41 billion of SNDK perp volume in 30 days, quotes about $10.9 million of depth within 0.5% of mid, and holds $240 million of open interest; across all venues, open interest in Sandisk contracts runs $870 million to $950 million [1]. The peak came on August 19, when SNDK perps traded $16.29 billion in a day across 32 tracked venues, [62% of the stock's US spot turnover that same day](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/options/articles/stock-perpetuals-explode-62-us-082021281.html) [2]. The migration is spreading down the memory chain: Samsung Electro-Mechanics already carries a tokenized-stock page on [Coinbase](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/coinbase) and a derivatives price page on Binance [3][4].

## Thursday was the first stress test

[Samsung's preliminary third quarter, published on October 8](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/memory-trade-cools-samsung-preliminary-155142154.html), missed on both lines: about 195 trillion won of sales against 205.3 trillion expected, and 107.4 trillion won of operating profit against 112.7 trillion [5]. Sandisk slid 5.35%, after closing down 2.56% on Tuesday and bouncing 2.8% Wednesday morning, and it moves more than 5% in a session on 118 of the last 252 trading days [5][6].

Nothing in the record shows the perp market caused the drop. What the record shows is that the leverage was already in place in the one SNDK market that never closes, where a trader reacting to news at 2 a.m. on a Sunday has exactly one deep book [1].

## A small pool makes a loud splash

Against the company itself, the leveraged pool is a rounding error: under $1 billion of open interest against roughly $250 billion of market value [1][6]. The quiet money has picked a side: [eight customers signed contracts worth a floor-priced minimum of $93.9 billion](https://www.smallworldfs.com/blog/2026/10/07/sandisk-locks-in-usd93-9-billion-as-customers-sign-multi-year-deals/), backed by $16.5 billion of guarantees and covering more than half of fiscal 2027 volume [7]. [Citi sees about 20% upside](https://theinference.org/article/citi-s-2-100-sandisk-call-leans-on-micron-sandisk-s-own-guide-leans-the-other-way), and Lynx Equity Strategies expects [Nvidia](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/nvidia), [Micron](https://theinference.org/markets/companies/micron) and Sandisk to lead the AI semiconductor rally into year-end [6][8].

The beneficiaries of the new structure are easy to name: whoever makes the book that never closes, and whoever wants leverage an equity broker will not extend [1]. The bill lands with shareholders, who carry weekend gap risk and one exchange clearing 55-58% of the tokenized-equity segment's volume and open interest, where an outage or policy shift now transmits straight into a mega-cap [1].

## October 29 prices the first round

[Sandisk and Samsung both report on October 29](https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/ai/articles/lynx-sees-ai-semiconductor-rally-133617560.html), the first full earnings cycle run under this market structure [5][6]. Two numbers matter: whether the $93.9 billion of contracted minimums grows [7], and whether the perp market's open interest does [1]. Sandisk's overnight price now belongs to traders who will never own a share of it.

## Takeaway

Binance's Sandisk perpetual futures, $41 billion of volume in 30 days and up to $950 million of open interest, now set the stock's overnight price, and the first full earnings cycle under this structure lands October 29.
