Rubrik chief executive Bipul Sinha, whose company just reported its best quarter as a public company while insiders kept selling.

Rubrik−3.25% — Rubrik, down 3.25 percent today delivered the best quarter of its life as a public company and its stock fell 10.1% on October 30, 2026 123. The same week, Wedbush raised its target to $150 and Morgan Stanley opened coverage at Overweight with a $155 target, both arguing that the Binance and Polymarket breaches make recovery spending a budget priority 123. The people who run the company sold shares roughly every trading day and a half for six months 123.

The quarter was genuinely good

Fiscal second-quarter revenue, for the period ended July 31, 2026, came in at $427.3 million, up 38% year over year 1. Subscription ARR reached $1.66 billion, up 33% 1. Non-GAAP earnings turned positive at $0.20 per diluted share and free cash flow hit $65.7 million 1. Rubrik raised full-year guidance to $1.685-1.693 billion in revenue 1. The filings show a ten-quarter arc: revenue up from $187 million to $427 million while operating losses narrowed from 387% of revenue to under 17% 6.

Why a beat got sold

Quiver's read on the tape: expectations ran ahead of the print. The stock had rallied to fresh highs into results, and good-but-not-spectacular was enough to trigger profit taking 1. The bulls' newest argument arrived the same day. Hackers stole about $6.3 billion from Binance in roughly 20 minutes on October 29, and Polymarket halted trading after a third-party compromise 45. Wedbush told clients Rubrik's identity and recovery products should benefit as breaches push recovery spending up the budget list 3.

The ledger the bulls do not address

Over the past six months, Rubrik insiders logged 138 open-market trades 1. Zero were purchases 1. Chief Technology Officer Arvind Nithrakashyap alone sold 378,927 shares for about $33.5 million across 71 trades; director John Thompson sold $6.8 million; CFO Kiran Choudary $3.3 million 1.

Institutions moved the other way: 378 funds added in Q2 2026, including AQR's 7.7 million-share addition and a new ~$181 million JPMorgan position 1. The median analyst target sits at $90, under a stock that traded near $124 before the drop 12.

What decides it

This is the same pattern we flagged on October 5 and October 24, when insiders had logged 125 sales in 126 trades while cyber stocks rallied [/article/retail-traders-call-rubrik-the-hedge-against-ai-insiders-logged-125-sales-in-126-trades][/article/sailpoint-rubrik-and-sentinelone-insiders-sold-about-49-million-while-cyber-stocks-rallied]. What is new is the contradiction sharpening: Wall Street's freshest coverage prices a breach-driven demand wave, while the sellers' side of the ledger grows with no buyer in sight.

Neither the filings nor the analyst notes say why insiders are selling, and no source carries their reason. The next reading is the fiscal third quarter, guided to $429-431 million in revenue, a forecast Rubrik itself set 2. Watch whether the insider ledger finally prints a buy.

Fortinet beat on every line and still lost $34 billion: a third of its billings growth was price

Fortinet beat every number Wall Street tracks, raised billings guidance a third time, and still lost $34 billion in one session. The arithmetic the CEO volunteered, about a third of billings growth was price, explains the verdict.

Binance covered 95% of the $6.3 billion crypto theft with its own money; the FBI blames North Korea

Binance reopened withdrawals on November 1 after using company money to replace 95% of the $6.3 billion stolen; the FBI attributes it to North Korea's TraderTraitor unit. The customer-protection fund was never the cushion; the corporate treasury was.

Gen Digital jumped 17% in five sessions after its CEO denied a GoDaddy deal; $31.65 decides the trade

Gen Digital beat its quarter and raised its year on October 28, but the line that repriced the stock was CEO Vincent Pilette's denial of a transformative acquisition, which lifted the GoDaddy-debt scare that had cut the shares 34%. The stock now re-enters the exact ceiling that broke it, with the street's mean target sitting almost at that level.

F5 delivered its best AI-era quarter and lost a quarter of its value in three days

F5 beat estimates and guided fiscal 2027 EPS in line, yet the stock lost roughly 26% in three sessions over slower growth, squeezed margins and the cost of doubling its AI-security salesforce. The average analyst target still sits about a third above Friday's close, and the board answered with $1.5 billion of fresh buyback capacity.
