Oklo reserved the steel for 27 reactors with no customer signed
Oklo reserved U.S. forging capacity on Friday for 27 reactor modules, deliveries 2030 to 2035, and the stock jumped 23 percent. The links holding its fleet back are a signed customer and a grid connection, and the $3.13 billion paying for the wait came mostly from stock sales.

Oklo+22.71% — Oklo, up 22.71 percent today has reserved the steel for 27 reactors before signing a customer for one 12. On Friday the advanced-fission developer agreed to hold capacity at U.S. Forged Rings, a private forge planning a 2,000-acre campus in Hertford County, North Carolina, for the vessels, lids and support structures of 27 Aurora reactor modules 12.
Deliveries would run from 2030 through 2035, and no price was disclosed 1. Oklo shares rose 22.7 percent, their largest one-day move in a year 3. It follows a twelve-month fall of 80.6 percent 3. Steel was not the link holding this fleet back.
One reactor is rising, and no customer is signed
At Idaho National Laboratory, Oklo's first 75-megawatt Aurora powerhouse has finished reactor-area excavation, started erecting structural steel and won Department of Energy approval of its safety analysis 2. Startup is targeted for 2028 to 2029 4. Beyond Idaho the pipeline thins.
January's agreement with Meta Platforms covers an Ohio campus of up to 1.2 gigawatts for its data centers 5, but management said on Friday's earnings call that the deal is not currently binding 6. Grid operator PJM dropped Oklo's 750-megawatt Virginia project from its interconnection study cycle in August 7. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission denied Oklo's challenge on September 24, leaving a refile in the next cycle as the way back in 7.
A vessel needs a customer and a grid connection first.
Shareholders are paying for the reservation
Oklo ended September with $3.13 billion of cash and marketable securities 2. Nearly all of it arrived as equity, including $2.3 billion of at-the-market stock sales in the first nine months of the year 3. Those shares went out at an average of $70.19, as we reported Friday 8. The stock closed at $23.55 6. Quarterly revenue was $1.86 million 2. Guided capital spending this year runs to $400 to $500 million 2.
Capital spending went from zero to $154 million a quarter while the operating burn held near $45 million

The bull reply is that long-lead parts are exactly what you order early, and co-founder and chief executive Jacob DeWitte says Oklo has "the capital to keep going" 6. Capital is the one input Oklo has already bought. A signed power contract and an interconnection slot are the missing inputs, and no forge in North Carolina supplies either.
The reward should follow the gap being closed
The real gap in this deal is American heavy forging, and closing it is not Oklo's work. Many of the largest steel components for U.S. reactors are forged overseas, and U.S. Forged Rings chief executive Giacomo Sozzi calls Oklo's early reservation the kind of commitment that "makes domestic heavy manufacturing possible" 1.
If the campus rises, the vendor wins an anchor tenant, and Meta+1.11% — Meta, up 1.11 percent today wins if Ohio is built 15. Until then Oklo's shareholders carry the cost, in a campus that is itself still a plan 1. The AI buildout will need this steel eventually. What sets the schedule is Meta's signature, a Virginia refile and a published cost for the first Aurora, which Oklo has not yet given 67.
The next receipt is fourth-quarter cash use against the operating guide of $120 to $150 million 2. Friday's pop was sector-wide: Centrus and NuScale each rose more than 15 percent 3. Watch the contracts and the queue. Whoever closes those links is creating the value, and that is where the reward belongs.
