KKR books $8 billion of asset exits before its November 9 earnings, led by $2.9 billion railcar sale to Ares

In the three weeks to November 4, KKR agreed to sell railcars and an Indian data-center stake worth $8 billion-plus while buying under $1 billion of Indian assets. The quarter it prints on November 9 shows whether the recycling pays.

Leased tank wagons in a GATX Rail Europe pool at a siding in Herzogenburg, Austria. KKR agreed on October 19 to sell Infinity Transportation, its wagon and intermodal leasing platform with roughly 50,000 railcars, to Ares funds at an enterprise value of about $2.9 billion.

$8 Billion Signed in Three Weeks

Between October 19 and November 4, KKR & Co signed papers on both sides of its deal book: two exits from assets the AI and logistics booms repriced, three purchases in Indian renewables, Indian consumer and diagnostics, and a sovereign-fund courtship in Kuwait 12345. The sequence closes on November 9, when KKR+0.15% — KKR, up 0.15 percent as of its last quote reports third-quarter results and the market prices the ledger 12345. The exits are the heavy side of the book.

Two Exits, One Above $5.5 Billion

On October 19, KKR agreed to sell Infinity Transportation, an Atlanta-based wagon and intermodal leasing company that owns roughly 50,000 railcars leased to more than 350 customers, to Ares Infrastructure Equity and Ares Insurance Solutions funds−2.27% — Ares Infrastructure Equity and Ares Insurance Solutions funds, down 2.27 percent as of its last quote at an enterprise value of about $2.9 billion, with closing expected in the first quarter of 2027 1. Global Atlantic, KKR's insurance subsidiary, has backed Infinity since 2016 1. Daniel Pietrzak, head of KKR's asset-based finance business, called the sale proof the firm can "scale ABF platforms into industry leaders" 1.

Separately, KKR, Singtel, Singapore's telecom operator, and Tata Group, the Indian conglomerate, are proceeding with a dual-track exit from STT GDC India, an Indian data-center platform: an IPO or a stake sale above $5.5 billion 2. Dual-track means the shareholders pursue a listing and a private sale at the same time and take whichever prices better.

The Buys Are Smaller

India's competition regulator, the Competition Commission of India, has cleared KKR's plan to buy a stake in Gentari Renewables India, the clean-energy platform of Malaysia's state-owned energy company PETRONAS, in a proposed investment of roughly Rs 6,000 crore announced in October 4. Days earlier, KKR injected about $145 million into an Indian consumer-focused company 5. KKR also combined two diagnostics companies it backs, Sapphiros and binx health, into Onvaro, a platform for connected and decentralized testing 2. The two disclosed India buys together come to well under $1 billion 2.

Kuwait Is Where the Next Rotation's Capital Comes From

On October 28, co-CEO Scott Nuttall, General David Petraeus and Middle East investing chief Julian Barratt-Due met the Kuwait Investment Authority, the Gulf state's sovereign wealth fund, at its Kuwait City headquarters 3. KIA is a founding investor, alongside NVIDIA+4.07% — NVIDIA, up 4.07 percent today and Vistra+3.36% — Vistra, up 3.36 percent today, in Helix Digital Infrastructure, launched earlier this year to finance AI data centers, power and connectivity 3. The meeting matters for the print because KKR has just sold assets from the last boom and needs new pools of money to buy into the next one.

Monday's Print Answers Whether the Exits Convert to Cash

Wall Street, per Zacks, expects earnings of $1.58 a share, up 12.1% year over year, and fee-related earnings revenue of $1.24 billion, up 19.7%, and analysts have revised the quarterly estimate 61.8% higher in the past 30 days; the stock has returned 5.9% over the past month while the S&P 500 composite fell 2% 6. That is the bull case in numbers: marks validated, capital recycled, fees compounding.

The skeptic's numbers sit on the same page: analysts see new capital raised of $27.85 billion against $42.61 billion a year ago, and transaction and monitoring fees down 12.4% 6. The first reading says the machine works; the second says less new money came in than a year ago. Monday's print, and the STT GDC India process behind it, will show which reading the fee line supports 26.

EPAM grows 2.3% but pledges $1.8 billion: the AI pivot runs on buybacks and cost cuts

EPAM grew 2.3%, cut costs hard, invented an AI-native revenue line above $185 million, and replaced its buyback with a $1.8 billion pledge through 2029 while nine-month cash flow fell by a third. The gap between the story and the cash is the trade.
