Schneider Electric's record €11.46 billion quarter rides AI data centers, with a third price rise planned

Schneider Electric posted the strongest quarter in its history selling power and cooling to AI data centers, opened its largest medium-voltage plant in China the same week, and CFO Nathan Fast is already promising a third round of price increases in 2027.

Schneider Electric medium-voltage switchgear lineups behind a rack-level power unit, the equipment that sits between the grid and AI server racks
Schneider Electric's software-defined medium-voltage switchgear and rack power hardware: the power-distribution gear its Xiamen and Kolkata plants are scaling for AI data centers.

Schneider Electric+1.44% — Schneider Electric, up 1.44 percent today makes the switchgear, backup power and cooling that sit between the grid and a rack of AI servers. That position just produced the strongest quarter in the company's history, a record €11.46 billion in revenue with data centers the leading customer 123. And in the same week it decided where the next supply comes from.

Its Xiamen park in China, the world's largest medium-voltage equipment plant, began operating on October 28 4. Its $192 million Querétaro campus in Mexico was inaugurated the same day 5. And its Indian listed unit's board approved a 50% lift in vacuum-interrupter capacity in Kolkata 6. Demand is outrunning the plants, and the company is expanding and repricing at once.

The price list is the defense

CFO Nathan Fast raised prices in January for copper and silver, then again in April for oil, transport and plastics after the Iran conflict 1. Now he warns a third wave is forming in semiconductors, memory and copper that has spiked again in recent months, arriving in 2027, when Schneider will "flex those muscles" once more 1.

The open question is who pays, and today the answer is the AI buyer. Data centers led the quarter's growth while industry and infrastructure energy-management revenues fell 1. The margin defense therefore leans on one customer group absorbing inflation the rest of the book cannot.

Three plants put capacity next to demand

The three capacity decisions read as one plan: build medium-voltage components where the customers are. Xiamen's phase one opened with second-phase construction starting the same day, in China, the company's second-largest market 4. Querétaro's three plants will serve Mexico, the United States and Canada, with more than 4,000 direct jobs promised by the end of 2027 5. Kolkata's expansion lifts vacuum-interrupter output from 250,000 to 375,000 units a year and adds breaker manufacturing, to be complete by fiscal 2028-29 6.

Every AI data-center hall starts as a power-distribution project, and this is the unglamorous work that closes the gap between a GPU order and a powered building. Whoever does it is creating the value, and Schneider is spending to own it.

The second build is in code

With Nscale, an AI cloud operator, and Start Campus, the developer of the 1.2-gigawatt Sines campus in Portugal, Schneider completed a digital-twin pilot built on Nvidia's−0.93% — Nvidia, down 0.93 percent today Omniverse DSX blueprint 7. The twin lets operators test rack density, cooling and power changes in simulation before touching the physical plant, on a campus planned for more than 66,000 Nvidia Rubin GPUs 7. Layered on the pending $22.6 billion PTC acquisition and the Cognite deal, it moves Schneider from selling boxes toward selling the operating layer of AI factories 2.

Watch the order book, not the revenue line

Data-center orders now make up roughly 30% of Schneider's order book 8. They have grown at triple-digit rates in three of the last four quarters, and management, which has raised 2026 guidance twice, points to visibility into 2027 and 2028 128.

Asked about exposure to neocloud customers such as CoreWeave−1.11% — CoreWeave, down 1.11 percent today, Fast declined to break down the mix, and CEO Olivier Blum said the company is "extremely careful" to select customers that will last 3. That is the risk, stated plainly: if hyperscaler capex slows, Schneider carries input inflation into segments that are already shrinking, and the price list works in reverse. While the buildout runs, the physical bottleneck is the business, and the plants and the software layer are where the durable position is being built. Watch the data-center share of orders, not the revenue line.

Johor's grid cannot keep up with AI, so YTL Power is buying 1,623 acres at Port Klang

The Malaysian utility that brings its own megawatts to Johor's AI data centers has taken 35% of a RM934 million venture turning oil-palm land in Klang into an industrial park. The filing tests the idea that the next scarce asset in AI infrastructure is land with power already attached.

Quanta Services, the contractor whose crews build the power lines data centers run on, posted revenue up 57 percent, a record $63.7 billion backlog, and raised guidance on every metric. By operators' own account the buildout's binding constraint is skilled labor, and that is the part Quanta sells.
