CME Group runs the largest US futures exchange and took the dated route into single-stock futures, launching 77 contracts on July 27, 2026. It sued the CFTC on June 18, 2026 arguing perpetual futures are swaps under Dodd-Frank, and the agency moved to dismiss on September 2.
