Semtech sells the heart of its $1.2 billion Sierra Wireless deal for $62 million
Semtech paid about $1.2 billion for Sierra Wireless in January 2023; in August 2026 it sold the cellular module business that anchored the deal to Taiwan's Compal for $62 million. The line earns about a third of the gross margin of everything Semtech kept, and the stock rose on the news.
