Intrator earned a bachelor of arts in political science at Binghamton University and a master of public administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. In 1998 he joined Natsource Asset Management in New York, trading carbon credits as principal portfolio manager and managing director, and stayed until July 2014. In 2013 he and Brian Venturo co-founded Hudson Ridge Asset Management, a natural gas hedge fund he ran as chief executive until January 2018.
In 2016 Intrator and Venturo began mining cryptocurrency on Nvidia GPUs in their Manhattan office, moving the servers to a New Jersey garage in August 2017. With Brannin McBee they named the venture Atlantic Crypto in September 2017, with Intrator as chief executive. During the 2018 crypto crash it bought thousands of GPUs from miners "for pennies on the dollar." In 2019 it became CoreWeave and switched from mining ethereum to renting computing capacity.
CoreWeave built its first AI cluster, 96 Nvidia A100 chips, for Eleuther AI in 2021. When Silicon Valley venture capitalists were reluctant, Intrator turned to East Coast debt markets. In July 2023 Blackstone led a $2.3 billion debt financing with CoreWeave's H100 chips as collateral, which the Financial Times called one of the largest private financings in US corporate history. CoreWeave went public in March 2025. Its biggest customers include Microsoft, Meta and OpenAI, and it signed a $14 billion deal to supply Meta through 2031.
In August 2026 Intrator reported $2.6 billion of quarterly revenue alongside $640 million of net interest expense. Core Scientific refused CoreWeave's roughly $9 billion offer, which Intrator had called "by far, the best alternative." The Inference reported that he sold about $25.1 million of shares on September 1, 2026, and $6.9 million on September 30, 2026, with no 10b5-1 plan marked on that filing.
