Rivian is the electric vehicle maker signed to supply Uber's next robotaxi wave: up to $1.2 billion of Uber investment through 2031, contingent on milestones, against 10,000 R2 robotaxis plus rights to 40,000 more by 2030. The company lost $3.6 billion in 2025 and expects to deliver at most 70,000 vehicles of all kinds in 2026, which makes Uber's order the robotaxi demand line no other customer is writing.
