Chime insiders sold $620 million in 90 days, and its growth consensus is 30%, not 43.5%
A pre-IPO era holder cut its Chime stake by 91.66% and the co-founder's trust filed its last scheduled sale on October 20, closing a 90-day window worth $619.6 million. The Street's 43.5% growth headline for the November 4 report does not survive a count against the filings; the guided number is 30%.

The last planned sale landed eight days before the print
On October 20, 2026, the King Family Trust, whose trustee is Chime+3.65% — Chime, up 3.65 percent today Financial co-founder Ryan King, converted 11,318 Class B shares into Class A stock and sold them at a weighted average of $31.03 a share, collecting $351,162, under a Rule 10b5-1 plan adopted on August 28, 2025 2. A 10b5-1 plan is a pre-set selling schedule, so the trade was calendar work, not a verdict on the quarter 4. It was the last reported insider sale before Chime releases third-quarter results after the close on November 4, 2026 4.
5.4% of the company went out the 90-day window
The money around that date is the story. Insiders sold 18,889,108 Chime shares for $619,627,638 over the past 90 days, per MarketBeat's tally on October 29, and still own 12.30% of the company 1. Against the 347,019,852 shares outstanding recorded in the trust's Form 144 notice, that is about 5.4% of all shares 3.
The largest block came from Global Advisors Ltd, a major shareholder, which sold 4,456,157 shares at an average of $32.66 on August 19 for $145,538,087.62 and cut its stake by 91.66% 1. The co-founder's trust moved in smaller scheduled tranches: 375,000 shares for $11.35 million on August 6, 42,421 shares for $1.49 million on September 9, and the October 9 notice flagging 50,000 more worth about $1.45 million, all under the same plan 3.
The co-founder's trust is a rounding error in the $619.6 million insider window

The 43.5% growth headline does not survive a count
The consensus tables ahead of the print carry a striking number: 17 to 20 analysts at $701.5 million of third-quarter revenue, 43.5% above the $488.8 million that finanzen.ch records as the year-earlier figure, with earnings of $0.094 a share against a prior-year loss of $0.150 5. The filings disagree with that base. Chime's third-quarter 2025 revenue was $543.52 million 6. On the filed base, the same $701.5 million consensus is growth of about 29%, which is what Zacks carries too: $705.18 million, up 29.7% 7.
Chime's own guidance, raised on September 8 alongside the Stride Bank deal, says the same: about $705 million of third-quarter revenue, roughly 30% growth 8. After 26.8% growth last quarter, 30% is an acceleration 8. It is not 43.5% 8.
Chime's revenue is guided to about 30% growth in Q3, not the 43.5% the consensus tables carry

The bank question falls due in 2027, not now
The composition question behind the acceleration does not fall due on November 4 8. Chime agreed to buy Stride Bank, its partner of more than seven years, for $590 million in cash, but the deal closes in the first half of 2027 pending approval by the OCC and the Federal Reserve 8.
Only once Chime owns the bank does deposit interest income that now sits with Stride fold into the revenue line, so this quarter's number is still the old fee-and-interchange mix. Chime has pledged to keep assets below $10 billion, staying under the Durbin amendment's interchange-fee cap 8.
Buyers underwrite the acceleration anyway
Institutional money split in the same window. Spyglass Capital Management added 2,109,057 shares, Arrowstreet Capital 2,658,816, Light Street Capital 121,474 and Atreides Management 118,946, while Evergreen Capital Management went the other way, selling 216,526 shares, cutting its position 86.1% and keeping 35,000 shares worth about $932,000 1.
The Street still leans in: 24 analysts carry a mean target of $39.55 against a $28.55 close on October 26 9, MarketBeat's consensus is a Moderate Buy at $36.38 1, and the newest rating, Monness Crespi & Hardt, starts at neutral with a $31 target 9. S&P Global's reporting on the charter wave flags the other side of that ledger: a bank brings capital requirements, Community Reinvestment Act obligations and regulatory scrutiny, and Enova's purchase of Grasshopper Bancorp, announced in September, was dead by October 16, while Wise's charter application was denied by the OCC in August 10.
What the November 4 print owes
The sellers' money is out; the numbers now have to pay for the buyers. Watch three readings: revenue against the $705 million guidance, whether growth lands near 30% as guided 8, and how management handles the Stride closing and its promise to keep assets under $10 billion 8. The sellers filed their plans in August 2025, the buyers filed theirs in quarterly windows, and the approvals for the bank purchase are not automatic 10.
