Perplexity's agent now runs the campaigns Klaviyo charges for, and Klaviyo reports tonight
Perplexity's Computer now builds the landing pages, Meta ads and Klaviyo emails that merchants pay Klaviyo to run, and the $5.74 billion platform prints Q3 hours after the announcement. Last quarter's revenue beat still cost the stock 13% in a day.

An agent learned the whole campaign in one afternoon

The Inference's October piece (ChatGPT's agents can read Klaviyo but can't run it) argued agents could read the platform but not run it. Monday's release runs it.
Tonight's print, hours later
Klaviyo, the Boston marketing automation platform built around online stores on Shopify, reports third-quarter results after the close on November 4 2. Consensus expects $379.87 million in revenue and a loss of $0.04 a share 2. The bar is low and unforgiving: last quarter revenue of $370.58 million beat estimates by 2.3%, and the stock still fell 13.32% in a day 2. Growth has now cooled for ten straight quarters, from 34.5% year over year in early 2024 to 26.4% last quarter 3.

Klaviyo is filed under detachable
Perplexity's connector catalog lists Mailchimp, Google Ads and TikTok right beside Klaviyo: the campaign brain is the agent's, and the marketing platforms are detachable limbs 1. That strikes at what Klaviyo charges for, the audience, design and orchestration work merchants pay subscription fees to get.
Perplexity's numbers are its own and unaudited: a $30,000 Meta test for Get Maine Lobster that it says returned 3.5 times the revenue and 63% better return on ad spend than an agency-run campaign, and True Classic's lifecycle marketing lead crediting Computer with rebuilding 19 Klaviyo flows in a few hours, work he says took weeks and thousands of dollars in agency cost 1. More sending volume could still route through Klaviyo. At a lower price per campaign.
The biggest holder sold into the optimism
Summit Partners, the growth investor whose fund is 44.4% Klaviyo, sold 5 million shares at $17.71 on August 11, $88.55 million, cutting its stake 26.5% while keeping 4.87% of the company 4. Seventeen analysts still rate Klaviyo a Buy against four Holds and one Sell, with a $27.05 average target against Monday's $21.33 close 45.
Jefferies+5.21% — Jefferies, up 5.21 percent today separately names Klaviyo a potential takeover candidate if software consolidation continues after Salesforce's+2.04% — Salesforce, up 2.04 percent today $5.66 billion Braze+0.73% — Braze, up 0.73 percent today deal 6. Stocktwits readers went almost uniformly bullish into the print, and the stock ticked up to $21.77 premarket 5.
The bull case does not need the agent
Even if the agent threat is real, the downside has a floor: takeover chatter from the Braze repricing 6, 26% growth 3 and $82.9 million of free cash flow last quarter 3. The agent could feed Klaviyo volume rather than starve it, because merchants still need a regulated sender of record for customer data. And Perplexity's case studies are vendor claims, none of them audited 1.
What the print must show
Tonight's release and call have to answer the question neither camp has data for: whether any growth is already agent-driven, and whether management so much as mentions Perplexity. Guidance is the tell, with full-year 2026 consensus sitting at $1.53 billion 2. Klaviyo has proved it can beat on revenue and still lose 13% in a day 2. If it cannot price the creation layer before the agents eat it, the send button alone will not carry a 26% grower 2.
