July's precedent favors the bulls

Super Micro's last preliminary update, on July 21, flagged 15–17 percent gross margin against guidance of 8.2–8.4, and the final report printed 17.5 5. The June quarter booked more than $60 billion of new orders, and the fiscal 2027 guide of $65–72 billion still sits far above the $52.5 billion consensus 5. One quarter at the new midpoint clears 26–29 percent of that range 6.

Wedbush called the update a "clear positive" 7. Mark Long, Western Digital's−1.21% — Western Digital, down 1.21 percent today former finance chief, took the CFO seat on October 15, ending a search opened in December 2024 over accounting concerns 8; a court dismissed a securities complaint against the company with leave to amend on October 16 6. Our earlier reporting covers the June raise and board probe, and the board suit over $2.5 billion of AI servers that reached China 86.

November 3 is the cash register

The second proof the market wanted arrived heavy. Meta−0.59% — Meta, down 0.59 percent today raised the low end of its 2026 capital-spending range to $135–145 billion on October 21 and posted negative $2.12 billion of quarterly free cash flow; its shares fell about 7 percent, and the AI trade slid with them 910.

Super Micro has round-tripped the pop, trading near $33.5 on October 23 against the $32.47 close before the filing 56, and a rack built on Nvidia's+0.01% — Nvidia, up 0.01 percent today new Vera CPUs, unveiled the same week, did not hold it up 11.

Until the cash flow statement prints, holders of the $9.5 billion in new paper and the banks behind the $8.7 billion of borrowings are underwriting the inventory. The sales arrived three months early. The cash speaks on November 3.
