The day itself was a rout. The Nikkei 225 fell 5.76% and the Nikkei semiconductor index 6.26% on November 6, after a Wall Street session that cut the Nasdaq 5.5% and the Philadelphia chip index 12.2% as investors questioned the pace of US data-center construction 8. What Monday has to answer
The bear case does not question the molds. Packaging tools are deferrable capital goods; if data-center builds stall, orders slide, and a 2.18 beta says TOWA does not duck sector swings 48. The bull case: signed contracts, a 50% dividend raise and a 2029 capacity bet sit oddly beside a 45% derating, with the stock about 63% below its May 2024 record of ¥4,853 4. Monday, November 9 is the first full Tokyo session since the revision; third-quarter results, due February 10, will show whether the record order book keeps compounding 4.
